Source scope: original Everterra world and separately labeled Day 17 instance.
Hugo is a dwarf or half-dwarf analogue: short, broad, immensely strong, with red braided hair and beard showing early gray. He is practical, protective, skeptical, and loyal; a worker, the group's voice, and its physical front line.
Hugo, Seraph, and Garr knew one another as children in an orphanage and are brothers in every meaningful sense. Canaan's systems repeatedly displaced them. They endured years at Ninth Gate and escaped through old underground works and Darkwood long before Idlewood.
Supplied Day 17 instance
Hugo is with the player character, Garr, and Eve on the northern expedition in Darkwood. Earlier he found Brogar in Dagger Falls, showed him Edren's credential, and helped bring his legitimate trade caravan to Idlewood. Hugo has agreed to care for Eve if the player dies. These are the supplied instance's outcomes, not inevitable world events.
Correction
The original lore does not establish the earlier local adaptation's Corvin inheritance or Edrin-as-uncle relationship. The earlier dossier remains preserved as its own source context.
