Harpers

Record type: published Forgotten Realms faction reference. Idlewood integration: not established.

Record

• Origins: The wiki dates an early formation to 324 DR. Later collapses and reformations mean that date does not describe uninterrupted membership or one unchanged organization.
• Population / scale: Unknown. A widespread, semi-secret network of individual agents and small cells; no dependable membership count is given.
• Alignment: No collective alignment assigned here. Members have varied backgrounds and judgments.
• Leaders: Leadership varies by era and location. The cited lore lists named Harper leaders for particular dates, not a timeless head. Current Idlewood leader: none established.
• Goals: Preserve historical lore, protect the innocent and oppressed, oppose tyranny and extremes of concentrated power, and support fair laws. Cells may differ on methods and on what best serves those aims.
• Territory: Networked across the Realms rather than a territorial state. Activity is tied to agents and local cells.
• Resources: Information, historical knowledge, trusted contacts, discreet agents, and small-cell coordination. No universal treasury, military strength, or population figure is stated.
• Relationships: Often act behind the scenes. Published lore lists organizations and regimes with which they have been allies or enemies across different periods; relationships shift over time. No relation to Idlewood is established.

Campaign boundary

This is a reference summary only. Do not place a Harper cell, agent, contact, or alliance in Idlewood without a separate campaign decision.
