The Everterra campaign bible says Canaan expanded human control through roads, bureaucracy, requisitions, fortresses, labor compounds, diplomacy, coercion, and force. His laws and actions repeatedly displaced Seraph, Hugo, and Garr from childhood onward. The creation helper emphasizes that the Crown can maintain roads and punish bandits while also harming families through quotas, corruption, work assignments, and bureaucracy; its people should not be flattened into uniform villains. The earlier Roll20 handout says Overseer Halbrecht was appointed under Canaan's authority, but that belongs to the earlier adaptation and does not define Everterra's Gate institutions absent an explicit connection. The new sources do not establish his current location, capital, or borders.
