Record type: Established Idlewood character; current play position follows the accepted local checkpoint.
Identity: Seraph is a darkling who escaped the Ninth Gate with Hugo and Garr. He has pale skin, black eyes, lavender horns, and a double tail; the campaign treats these as part of his identity and history, not evidence of corruption or a promised transformation. (Campaign promises and default party)

Background and relationships

After Corvin Marrow died, Seraph inherited the farm in equal share with Hugo and Garr. The three-tower foundation seal and the eastern boundary stone connect the farm to the Ninth Gate. The campaign's established account says the chorus beneath the farm answers Seraph because he remembers prisoners by name. The prepared return chapter explores an intake clerk trying to take his name; that scene has not occurred at the accepted checkpoint. He holds the displaced prisoners as people, not an anonymous threat. (Campaign truth; chapter overview)

Seraph wants to protect Idlewood and refuses to murder bound prisoners. During the accepted play, he pressed for the surrendered guards to live long enough to be questioned, and Zed agreed. His position is a chosen moral boundary, not a command over other characters. His fellow heirs are Hugo and Garr; Edrin Coalhand is Hugo's uncle and offered the Crow Hollow refuge. At the current local checkpoint, Seraph has told the group that the boundary stone is a lock and a Crown diviner is in Idlewood. What the group does next remains undecided. (Premise and history; accepted continuity)

Languages and possessions

The structured character record lists Common, Celestial, Dwarvish, and Gate cant. It lists Corvin's farm ledger and a holy symbol among Seraph's possessions, alongside personal equipment. Those are source-recorded items, not verified live inventory. (Character data)

The campaign asks whether mercy can remain mercy when it endangers those one protects. This is a theme and an open question, not a predetermined answer for Seraph. (Chapter 8: Through Darkwood)

Unknown: Seraph's pre-Gate life, family, religious tradition, and current private plans are not established here.
