The world beyond the Gate
Preserved local adaptation or Roll20 reference. Its people, events, inventories, and geography belong to their stated source context; they are not merged into original Everterra canon.

This record summarizes the existing Roll20 handout called World Lore, found under LORE AND MORE in The 9th Gate Saturday campaign. The handout labels itself Player Facing World Canon. The transcribed original preserves its wording and source location.
King Canaan and the Crown
The handout names King Canaan as ruler and describes his banners as familiar across the land. His authority is presented through continuity and familiar institutions: maintained roads, predictable taxes, enforced laws, and a stable public order. Most people accept the Crown without necessarily loving it. The handout does not define the extent of his rule or name the kingdom, its capital, borders, royal lineage, or population.
Government and ordinary life
Cities, trade, armies, work, and ordinary households operate within an organized system. Orders pass down a hierarchy while responsibility spreads across institutions. Work the government cannot publicly acknowledge is handled quietly. The handout describes this as the governing system's justification, rather than establishing that its actions are morally right.
War is described as limited and controlled. Citizens seldom receive its full reasons; veterans' stories have limited circulation. Borders are described as changing slowly, if at all. These are qualitative setting descriptions, not a military census, fixed borders, or simulation formulas.
What people know about the Ninth Gate
The Ninth Gate's existence is public knowledge, although its details are rarely discussed. Few people know someone who has been inside, and accounts from those who return are scarce. People may emerge changed or fail to return. The setting's public institutions frame the Gate as necessary containment.
This fills an important distinction: public knowledge of the Ninth Gate does not establish public knowledge of the Office of Gates' secret program or the First Gate below Corvin Farm. Those local secrets remain recorded separately in Hidden truths.
Expansion fields
Kingdom name, capital, world date, borders, population, subordinate offices, military organization, and placement within Faerûn remain unspecified by this handout. Those fields can be expanded from further campaign sources without inventing values.
