Reusable Everterra world layer
Ninth Gate is a widely known and infamous Crown prison and work-labor assignment at the north edge of Darkwood, against icebound mountains. Seraph, Hugo, and Garr spent years there and escaped long before Idlewood; the creation helper places their escape roughly a decade before the current era. During work beneath the compound, Garr discovered a disguised ancient passage. The brothers escaped through underground caverns, survived Darkwood, and eventually reached Idlewood.
Ninth Gate stands above or near structures older than Canaan's regime. The brothers passed through part of that older world without understanding it. The current world mystery concerns what Ninth Gate uncovered beneath its northern works and what may be coming south. The former prison and this ancient history belong to Everterra's reusable setting; they do not imply the separate First Gate plot from the earlier local adaptation.
Day 17 Continuum instance
Garr recognized tracks of Ninth Gate issue boots leading north, with drag marks. A white-eyed construct found near Weller reported that Ninth Gate took its paired credential, excavated beneath the northern works, opened an older passage, and that Ninth Gate personnel plus “others” were coming south. This is the construct's reported information, not a complete independent survey of the site or confirmation of every group moving south.
The PC, Hugo, and Garr are in Darkwood following Garr toward the old escape route. The source snapshot does not say they have returned to Ninth Gate or entered the newly opened passage. Its current garrison, excavation layout, and the identity of the “others” remain unresolved.
